On Jethro Tull Halcyon In Kal… 17 November 2012

"Spin me back down the years, and the days of my youth; draw the lace and black curtains and shut out the whole truth." To Cirque Royal in Brussels to see Jethro Tull. Another blast from my Edinburgh past (saw them at the Playhouse on my 19th birthday). Ian and the gang still in fine form; and he can still perch one leg on the other while giving it some serious welly on his flute!

On Simon & Garfunkel Halcyon In Kal… 26 September 2012

On September 19, 1981, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel played in front of 500,000 people in Central Park, New York City.  I missed this concert by three days, as I had to end my first ever visit to the US to go back home to prepare for starting at Edinburgh University, but I saw them play much the same set live at Wembley Stadium the following June - a highly memorable experience even 30 years on.
