On Pink Floyd

blog image

To Antwerp on 24 October 2012 to see Pink Floyd tribute band Brit Floyd. Classic stuff: from a trippy See Emily Play, through an exuberant Money, a suitably "adult" Great Gig In The Sky, the poignancy of Wish You Were Here/Shine On You Crazy Diamond (with photos of Syd flicking through the kaleidoscopic backdrop), and all building towards the hazy theatre of Comfortably Numb, which of course brought the house down.

On Walking

Since Monday 8 March 2010, having heard someone on BBC Radio 4 extol the joys of repeating the same walk over and over, I have decided (when I remember, or when I'm not being distracted by the antics of our dog, Jodie) to try and be present and observant during a regular walk from home, one we call "Passetemps" (the former name of a restaurant nearby), observing the minute daily changes gradually emerge into the seasonal patterns of growth, decline and rebirth.

Organic Vegetable boxes

"Very exciting news, I took delivery of my first organic fruit and veg. box at the weekend.  It came from Ferme Sainte Barbe and it was delivered to the home of someone in my local GAC - a group buying scheme where I live.  Quality seems fine but not really that cheap at 15 Euros. I will let you know what it is like." - Ailsa Kelleher, 2008
