Halcyon In Kaleidoscope features irregular and fragmentary writings - on ideas and values, places and people - which evolve over time into mini essais, paying humble homage to the peerless founder of the genre. The kaleidoscope is Halcyon's prime metaphor, viewing the world through ever-moving lenses.

A Mundane Comedy is Dom Kelleher's new book, which will be published in 2025. The introduction is available here and further extracts will appear on this site and on social media in the coming months.

On Brightlingsea

Before first going to Ailsa's house in late December 1986, I had been twice before to Brightlingsea, once to a campsite with "the families" (Kellehers, O'Connells, Southons etc.) in about 1976 and then for a party at Joanna Cousins' family's weekend home in about September 1980.

We were married at All Saints Church on 22 July 1989.
