Once back in the UK, I'd love to get involved in the "edible cities" movement, having been inspired by places as diverse as Todmorden, where a sense of community seems to prevail, and Havana, where necessity was undoubtedly the driver.
I'm reminded too of Luc Schuiten's exciting but (so far) unachieved vision of turning Place Schuman in Brussels into a wheat field, with hop wires strung between the buildings overhead, in order to remind Eurocrats of our continent's historical reliance on bread and beer.
