I watched a really interesting one minute podcast by the Executive Director of Sierr Club, Carl Pope, http://action.sierraclub.org/site/MessageViewer?em_id=42281.0&dlv_id=40282 an environmental organisation in the US. He said that rather than being overwhelmed by the thought of reducing CO2 emissions by 80% in 40 years time, we should think of reducing it by 2% each year. He reiterates that this is relatively easy to do - by making the small changes I have talked about like changing light bulbs, making sure appliances are completely turned off and getting energy efficient appliances and cars. If we start by doing all this the reductions will soon mount up...Easy peasy!
