For me, values are not only about creating within the organisation a sense that people feel better, it is also about actually being better; doing the right thing. That is much more important to young people today than 10 or 20 years ago. The young graduates we recruit are increasingly asking questions about corporate and social responsibility, values, what differences we seek to make, and at the same time they have questions in their mind around whether big business is good or whether big business is just inherently bad. 'So the values journey for us is about making sure we can create confidence that actually...big business is good. And that's not touchy feely and soft, actually it's pretty hard - Mark Otty, chairman, Ernst & Young UK
