The kaleidoscope is Halcyon's prime metaphor, viewing the world through ever-moving lenses.

Charity - a new approach to charity currently being tried is to link families with more directly to families with much less.
Environment - amid widespread media reports of deforestation, some countries appear to be reforesting successfully, without leading to depopulation or other negative effects.
