Halcyon In Kaleidoscope features irregular and fragmentary writings - on ideas and values, places and people - which evolve over time into mini essais, paying humble homage to the peerless founder of the genre. The kaleidoscope is Halcyon's prime metaphor, viewing the world through ever-moving lenses.

A Mundane Comedy is Dom Kelleher's new book, which will be published in 2025. The introduction is available here and further extracts will appear on this site and on social media in the coming months.

Ideas

Quote 1351

The world has stopped launching Mayflowers. Very few new audacious ideas have seen the light of day since the end of World War II. East/West follies were the only show on Earth. How could we ever fall so low? The need for new ideas, for great ideas, for bold ideas for the further ascent of humanity is pressing - Robert Muller

Quote 1350

The wise only possess ideas; the greater part of mankind are possessed by them - Coleridge

Quote 1349

The whole process is just a flow of ideas - David Lynch

Quote 1344

The people with knowledge and the people with ideas can't and won't communicate with each other. Our society is at an intellectual nadir, exactly when our collective creativity is most desperately neede - Dussault, http://blogs.salon.com/0002007/2009/07/31.html#a2416

Quote 1343

The path to unity is through the free exchange of ideas - Charles Hinkley (quoted in Robert Muller's Good Morning Wolrd bulletin, 12/10/06)

Quote 1342

The ideas that have lighted my way have been kindness, beauty and truth - Albert Einstein

Quote 1341

The difficulty lies not so much in developing new ideas as in escaping from old ones -- John Maynard Keynes (1883-1946)
