The 52:52:52 project, launching on this site and on social media in 2025, will help you address 52 issues with 52 responses over 52 weeks.

This site addresses what's changing, at the personal, organisational and societal levels. You'll learn about key changes across more than 150 elements of life, from ageing and time, through nature and animals, to kindness and love...and much more besides, which will help you better prepare for related change in your own life.

Halcyon In Kaleidoscope features irregular and fragmentary writings - on ideas and values, places and people - which evolve over time into mini essais, paying humble homage to the peerless founder of the genre. The kaleidoscope is Halcyon's prime metaphor, viewing the world through ever-moving lenses.

A Mundane Comedy is Dom Kelleher's new book, which will be published in 2025. The introduction is available here and further extracts will appear on this site and on social media in the coming months.

Purpose

Quote 2776

Nothing contributes so much to tranquilise the mind as a steady purpose - a point on which the soul may fix its intellectual eye - Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley

Quote 2775

My big concern is me and what do I do now until the time of my death. That is valid. That is useful. That is beautiful. That is creative. And also, I want to be free again. I want to be free like when I was a kid...I want to see me to the end working, living for myself. Ripeness is all. Now, interpreting what ripeness is our own individual problem - Maurice Sendak June 10, 1928-May 8th, 2012

Quote 2774

It may be that when we no longer know what to do we have come to our real work, and that when we no longer know which way to go we have come to our real journey. The mind that is not baffled is not employed. The impeded stream is the one that sings. - Wendell Berry

Quote 2773

It may be that when we no longer know what to do we have come to our real work, and that when we no longer know which way to go we have come to our real journey - Wendell Berry

Quote 2772

It is never too late to be what you might have been - George Eliot

Quote 2771

Instead of asking people we've just met what they "do" (usually "for a living"), we should ask them what they care about. What keeps them awake at night. What they would die for. And likewise when others ask us what we "do" we should deflect the question and instead tell them what we really care about. - Dave Pollard, http://howtosavetheworld.ca/2010/05/18/the-hard-part-is-finding-people-…

Quote 2770

Instead he kept his eye on the sky, day and night. He even bought himself a small telescope, and began to teach himself the whereabouts of the constellations. He found the process reassuring. It was good to look up during the day and know that the stars were still above his head, even though he couldn't see them. It was doubtless the same for countless other mysteries. That they shone, but the world shone more brightly, and blinded him to them - Clive Barker, Weaveworld

Quote 2769

I'm tired of following my dreams. I'm just going ask them where they're going and meet up with them later - Mitch Hedberg

Quote 2768

I wish every one of you to find your own reason for indignation. It's precious - Stホphane Hessel http://is.gd/twRwty
